Getting to Port Everglades and What to Expect

Port Everglades is the only U.S. seaport sitting right next to an international airport: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is 1.8 miles from the terminals, and the port welcomed more than 4.7 million cruise passengers in its 2025 fiscal year. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and Disney all homeport here, alongside luxury ships from Viking and Silversea, sailing to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Panama Canal and across the Atlantic. Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas arrives in November 2026 as the largest ship ever to sail from the port.

  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)1.8 miles from the port, the closest airport-to-pier hop in U.S. cruising. The port still advises allowing at least 45 minutes between your flight landing and your check-in time. Metered taxis run about $18 to $21 to the terminals, and rideshares pick up at the airport as usual.
  • Miami International Airport (MIA)27 miles south, 30 to 45 minutes up I-95 in normal traffic. Palm Beach International is 50 miles north.
  • Driving inThree port entrances: SE 17th Street at Eisenhower Boulevard, State Road 84 just east of U.S. 1 at Spangler Boulevard, and I-595 East at Eller Drive. I-95, I-75 and Florida's Turnpike all feed I-595 East, the most direct route to the terminals.
  • Public transitBroward County Transit buses stop at the port's Northport section on SE 17th Street, a short walk or shuttle hop from the northern terminals.
