MSC Seascape is the first MSC Cruises ship to homeport in Texas, sailing out of Galveston, which is now the third major cruise line hub in the area. If you’re cruising from the Gulf Coast, here’s what the ship actually offers once you’re aboard.
The Ship Itself
Seascape has a distinctly European design sensibility, and unlike a lot of newer megaships, not every deck runs the full length of the vessel, which gives it a slightly less boxy silhouette than some of its competitors. The atrium spans multiple open decks and is one of the better people-watching spots on board.
Pools and Relaxation
There are multiple pool areas spread across different decks, an infinity pool, and no shortage of hot tubs. If you book into Aurea tier or above, you also get access to the ship’s thermal spa area, which is worth factoring into your cabin choice if spa time is a priority for your trip.
Dining
Beyond the main dining room, there’s a solid lineup of specialty restaurants, plus a Yacht Club restaurant reserved exclusively for guests booked into that tier. Yacht Club guests also get their own private pool deck, which is a meaningful upgrade if you want to avoid crowds entirely.
Choosing Your Experience Tier
MSC books this ship across four tiers: Bella (the base experience), Fantastica, Aurea, and Yacht Club. Yacht Club is the biggest jump, since it bundles in butler service, all-inclusive food and beverage, all-inclusive Wi-Fi, priority embarkation, and access to private facilities throughout the ship. If you’ve never sailed MSC before, it’s worth pricing out Yacht Club against a comparable suite on another line before assuming it’s out of budget.
The Galveston Terminal
The Galveston cruise terminal itself is modern and purpose-built, with a dedicated parking structure, which makes the embarkation experience noticeably smoother than older Gulf Coast terminals.
